With our powerwashing season just a month or so away up here in the northeast (we had 8" of snow yesterday) I was thinking what annoyes me the most about doing this business is not the mosquito's even though they are a pain in the *** but far and away for me is the YELLOW JACKET bees. They are vicious and nasty and when they bite they hurt. I seem to get bit at least once a year and my reaction to there bites is getting worse. 2 of the last 3 years I ended up going to the emergency room because of those suckers. Ive been bitten anywhere from my hands, legs and even inside my ear once. That hurt. The worst one was last year when a yellow jacket went into my shirt and bit me in the armpit.Aside from the immense pain I was in my arm and part of my chest swelled up like a balloon. Once again off to the hospital. Yellow jackets like to hang out by wood and if they feel threatened they will attack unprovoked. There's been times when I'm powerwashing a house and I'm near the top rung on my 28' ladder and I spot them watching me with there heads going back and forth. usually I try to leave them alone but if I feel threatened I have no problem blasting them with 3000psi of water. When I'm staining a house or deck for that matter I try to not bother them at all. I stain they watch. Ive been bitten thru my gloves while staining alsnce I was bit by 4 yellow jackets in one shot. Hopefully I don't get bit this year or have any nightmares about them either. What are other annoying parts of this business that you people experienced? -John-
