First off, a big fat thanks to all that contribute here and abroad. With that said now...I will be entering this industry in the spring time. At first I will try to focus on a few areas. Primarily Home & Driveway but will not limit myself to just those areas. My question is this,

What type of equipment would be capable of handling most types of applications? I am not looking for brand referral as that is opinion driven. I am looking for spec. natured responses that should be industry standard among all. ie...pressure ratio values capable for the majority of jobs, flow rates to match, horsepower to accomadate the demands of the pump ect.ect...

Basically if you could only buy one machine, what specs. would you want it to have to accomplish the most variety of jobs possible, effieciently?

Thanks in advace to all that reply.

5 gpm 3000 psi belt driven hot water unit 18 to 20+ horse power engine ( only use the hot water when needed ) :) You can do just about ant light commercial and residential job with those specs. If you maintain the machine it will last you a long time. You will just have to replace one part here and there over time. If you plan to do flat work I would get a surface cleaner ASAP!

If you’re looking for equipment Mark from www.PressureWasherZone.com
is our sponsor. But more importantly He will treat you right regarding price, service and support. He's not your come to the power wash network as newbie and 1 or 2 years later a distributor/garage chemist with all the answers and great deals.

He's a legit dist with a real retail store and service center in California who will go out of his way for you in a minute. Even for a 5 dollar sale. Always available when needed even nights and weekends. Ask around anywhere and you will get the same answer. He's really great for the newbie, if you’re having machine trouble on the job. Just call him up and he will trouble shoot your problem on the spot.

If this sounds like an advertisement, that's because it is. You’re new and you need to know who you can rely on and trust. You can do what ever you want with that information. I wish you the best with your new company and look forward to seeing you around in the forums.

Have a great weekend :)

16 HP will be OK on a 12 volt burner unit, I have even seen some 16 HP units pulling 5 @ 3000 and a generator, but that in my opinion is overworking that engine.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I have an idea where to start.

Please tell me more about the pump and the burners for these units. What are the critical areas one should look at when buying a unit and why they are important?

Thanks

Oh someone wanted to know where I was located. Not sure how that pertains to a genuine offering of knowledge but I am in Northeast PA above the Poconos. Should I take that as competion in this area is heavy?

Just so everyone knows. I merged the two threads. This was posted in two forums and had replies in both. Please don't post the same question twice :) If someone wants to answer your thread they will find it even if it's posted in the wrong forum. One of the moderators will move it to the right forum.
