Hello! I need a little help. I've ran a janitorial business for the past 3 years and because I was trying to help someone I recently am trying to start a power washing business. I need a little help with the type of equipment to get is psi or hp the most important when it comes to pressure washers. I've recently went to Home Depot and found a pressure washer on wheels with a Honda engine that is 5.0hp with 2600psi is this enough for a pressure washing business? Do you have any suggestions for literature of estimating or pricing projects? Any suggestions of affordable places to fill a water tank?

Welcome to the board.

All of the questions you asked have been answered many times before. You can use the search function to find and review all the information available on this board regarding your topics.

Also, why not post your name so we know who we're talking to.

Neither HP or PSI is important when considering a new pressure washer. What you want is flow, and lots of it. At least 4.0 GPM is bare minimum, while 5.0+ being the preferred among pros. If your gonna do concrete, your gonna need hot water.

Never haul water if you can help it. Its hard on your truck, increases the likelyhood of having an accident due to the weight pushing you, and sucks fuel. You fill your water tanks at the job location.

Pricing is something that cannot be discussed in one post, it'd take at least one thread.

Research the boards and stay away from Home Depot or Lowe's machines if you are serious about this business.

Don't feel too bad Mathew, I've got two home depot machines in my garage..lol Both of them have flat tires from sitting so long. I ended up having to guy them when my other machines engine died and I couldn't find a rental machine anywhere. Needless to say, when you have a contract that stipulates fines for each day your late on completing a job you do what you have to do.

I'll probably end up selling them on ebay or making another trailer rig with them for cold water. Or, maybe I'll add a hot box and double my water volume by hooking the machines together like someone mentioned on here.
