There are lots of good choices neither of which you mentioned. Cuprinol, Wolman's, Sikken's are all good choices. A good rule of thumb to follow, you get what you pay for, seems with sealers the higher the cost the better the product.

Focus more on a paint store.............Cabots at MAB paints, Cuprinol at Sherwin Williams..........

Stay away from CWF, Thompsons, and Behr.

Rymar - Great stuff !!!!! Distributed by a paint store chain called SEVENS..... Don't know if they are in your neck of the woods.

What is the most cost effective sealer out there in your opinions?
Does Sun Brite carry these products?

I find Ready Seal to be very cost effective, based on the ease of application.

There are some precautions that need to be taken first...............you have to be certain the deck has no previous stain/sealer left on it, and the moisture content of the wood has to be 12% or below.

I use Olympic Clear Wood Preservative for clear sealer jobs. Goes on real easy with a garden sprayer. Turns grey in about 9mos. I find it performs just as good as Sherwin Williams clear sealer.

For anything semi I use Sherwin Williams Cuprinol preferably Cedar or Redwood.

Sherwin Williams Cuprinol Not me

I sold Cuprinol for 13 years in CA once they went to water cleanup the product died in my opinion. Now if you Guys are using it in the Orig Oil brand then it's a fantastic product line similar to SuperDeck.

CA has tuff air rules and the oil based NON h2o cleanup is not available.

I find if you use Oil the maintanace is easy as long as it's never over applied. One lite coat and a year to two years in CA's hot sun is all you get.

SuperDeck has a fine website and it has a complete line of maintance products so I stick with them.

I wish I had the old Cuprionol, but I would have to use super decks cleaners and wood brightner.

So is the Cuprinol the Oil based paint thinner cleanup that your getting?

The water based cleanup is Waxed based you know.

For older beat up decks I use Olimpic New wood Look, it has enough pigment to kickup wood that was been sun beaten to long. I don't use it too much but when I do boy it give a nice clean look again. And I find the re clean and seal is easy.
