hi guys,

i need some help here real quickly. a guy wanted me to strip solid stain of of the floor of a screened porch, and i did it with stripexL and did a pretty good job, but not good enough to put a semi-stain down. i need something local and readily available to strip the rest of this paint off. by local i mean sherwin, lowes, HD, or something like that. Yall know of anything?? i don't want to sand, just leaves the floor looking too uneven. Any solutions??? i appreciate anyone's response. thanks

You know, Jon.........we as power washers are not magicians. There are some stains you are not going to get rid of no matter what chemical you use (unless you try some of Jim B's stuff)

You have to prepare customers for that possibility when tackling jobs like this one. You best bet is probably sanding. I even used a chisel once and scraped some left over pieces of solid stain off a deck, but I'm not sure I'd recommend that.

Good luck

Jon,

I have to agree with Mike, sanding maybe your only alternative without raising the top grain with another stripper. Try the 4" palm sander with a medium grit. It shouldn't leave any uneveness.

strippers can usually only tackle one coat at a time.Try restripping or just sand off the remaining if it not too much. What is left is probably drips or overlap.
