Anyone familar with N.E.S.T. / John Tyler Enterprises? A rep called about cleaning concrete in front of a couple of store fronts. Have some concerns about amount of compensation, payment frequency (50 days after paperwork submission, assuming client has paid them), and fact I have to go through insurance hoops for not much compensation.
I have never done any sub work for an out of towner, so I wonder what pitfalls I may encounter.
Ron M, your comments would be particularly welcomed.

Sub contracting

Bill, Like Mel said what is your time worth? I had a ( so called ) national co. call me to do some service drives for them. In their contract they would only pay me after the customer payed them. And I couldnt go around them to collect. They said I would work for them not the customer. I said fine , Pay me in a timely fashion ( 30 days ) since I work for you. And it is your problem if they dont pay you. Basicly if you are that desperate and need the work , do it. But Im not willing to work for .40 on the dollar when I could get the whole enchalada. Also If you need to sue them for payment , where do you go? Out of state? Seems like a lot of trouble for very little$$$.
I think you will make the right decision.

Slow pay I say NO WAY.
Been there done that. Don't do any work for out of town contractors for big stores. I work for the owners only myself.
