Not pulling chemical thru injector

I just bought a new machine that is suppose to be 3500 PSI and 4 GPM. Its belt driven and came with an adjustable chemical injector and 50 ft section of yellow 3/8" 4000 PSI hose. When I tested the output it showed it was pulling 4.75 GPM. The problem is that for some reason, I cannot pull chemical or very little when I attach a second 50 ft section of high pressure hose (total 100 ft).
Can anyone give me an idea of what the problem might be? Is there a chance I might need a different rated chemical injector instead of the one that came with it? Thanks for all responses in advance.

Could be sucking air from the hose somewhere. Check all the clamps and the hose itself. Sometimes the check valve -bb- gets stuck or maybe the spring that holds it in place has to much tension on it and will not allow the soap to flow properly. The bb im talking about is in the screen that protects the soap hose from picking up junk and sending it into your pump. Valve could be pulling air. Soap hose could be to long? Hope this helps.
I prefer the ball valves for soap hose instead of the screw in metering style. I carry extra soap hose and a extra Ball valve with me just in case. Soap hose have a tendencie to get crushed or stepped on if you have them set up the wat i do. Hope this helps:) mtngoat

Could be on backwards....

If it sucks without any tip,it could be in the gun holding to much back psi,it should have worked with the #40 tip.I have two guns my downstreamer want work with, duno why b/c they are rated the same as the others.....stuff just happens

It has an adjustable injector did you make sure the valve is open?? Turn it all the way left to fully open!

You do know the black colored tip is for soap!

Yes, I have turned the valve to the open position and tried multiple "black" soap nozzle tips with different size orifices.

Did the injector come with the machine? Mine was screwed up too. The original 10% injector was taken back and they gave me a 20%. The spray tip size could be wrong, but it's probably the chem inj itself.

I have tried all kinds of combinations of hoses & tips and nothing worked. It barely pulled chemical with NO gun even attached to the pressure hose.
However, when I took off the chemical injector that came with the machine (2.3 size orofice), and put the one on from my other 3500 psi / 4 GPM machine, everything worked great. I got plenty of soap. I don't know the size or make of the chemical injector I put on it though. The company at said that it was designed for only 50 ft of hose. I told them that was crazy to sell a commercial size machine designed for only 50 ft of hose. Anyway, I don't know what size of chemicl injector to buy (orofice size).

I haven't had a problems with the "wrong" injector. My 3GPM machine gets a good pull when I use the 20% I have for it, and also when I use my friend's, who has a 3500PSI 5GPM. Is the injector new? Take it back, they'll give you a new one.
As far as the right orofice size, there are different charts you can look at online when you go to buy the tips...Or the store you go to should have one. I think a 3500 4GPM is a 3.0?? My 3GPM 3000PSI is 3.5

If, as you say, you had a 2.3 injector then you had the wrong size. You need, as you have discovered, a 2.1 (most likely properly installed on your other unit) in order to work.

The 2.3 nozzle works from 4 to 6 GPM on 50' of hose. If you are longer it will not work.

The 2.1 nozzle works from 3 to 4 GPM so it will work out to about 150' or even 200'.

I suggest you take it back to where you bought it, get a 2.1 soap injector and possibly some form of compensation for your inconvenience and business challenge.

Hope this helps? Cheers.

I've been useing a 2.3mm for over 11 years and it has aways worked on my 5gpm 3000psi and 6gpm 3500psi rigs.I use 100ft. hoses most of the year and 200ft three months out of the year, have had no trouble it drawing with lenght hose.Just call me lucky b/c I went though alot of downstreamers before I found the one I use, nothing fancy just a cheap model or it could be in the size tip you use,mine,2030 and sometimes 2040.
