um... sorry to ask something like this, but is the 'bolt' the drain plug? If so, pull it out , change the oil (get the right oil, it is not just motor oil) since its all gonna run out anyway, and take plug to auto patrs store and find a new gasket or copper washer the right size.

tighten the bolt?

Is the oil really coming from under the bolt, or from somewhere else and just hanging off the bolt head? look for a clean trail in the grime leading back up to source of leak. If no trail to follow, clean it all really nicely, then run it and find where it is coming from.

Mine have never leaked any oil, the seals that typically go out are on the water side. A shaft seal might give out and leak oil, but this would get oil slung all over the place. I doubt you need seals.

Are you sure it is pump oil, not engine oil that has ended up on the pump? Is the pump oil level low? Is the engine oil level low? Is the oil cleanish (probably pump) or got black with carbon (engine)? compare the oil to the oil on the respective dip sticks.

Awesome advice from Ace. May I add: did you recently change the pump oil? if so, or if the cap is not on tight, it may leak down the sides. Also, the fins will hold an awful lot of the slippery stuff. There is also a window on the pump to check the level. It should be in the middle and it should not be cloudy, it should look like...oil.

Hope its something simple!
