Quick Connects and preventative maintenence?

I just bought some stainless steel quick connects for my wands and they seem a little tougher to connect together. Is there any certain lube you guys use to keep them sliding easier and seizing up? Also is there a big difference between the economy ones and the higher priced ones?
thanks

Yes there is a difference in quality between high priced US made connects and the cheap imported connects. But is the difference worth it? At first, I thought so, and only bought the quality US connects. Now I realize it's far cheaper to change the connects once or twice than spend the bigger bucks for the higher quality parts.

At first I felt kinda crappy about sending more money for cheap Chinese parts, knowing that maybe US jobs are being lost because of me and people like me. But, the reality set in that I can't keep raising prices to cover the fast growing increases for everything I buy, including fuel, so somewhere I had to draw the line and hold my costs down in order to keep my pricing level.

I'm sorry if I cost any of my US brothers their jobs, but I gotta live too, and I succumbed to the hipocrisy of buying certain lower cost imported parts while still waving my US Flag.

Now when it comes to the more mission critical items, I do not buy the cheap imports or knockoffs, but rather stick to quality oem parts.

Relating to lubricating the connects, a good silicon spray works very well, and doesn't tend to get gummy or cause too much dirt to collect.

More often than not, what really causes the connects to fail is impacting them on hard surfaces (ie concrete), which knocks them out of round. Usually for me the plugs wear out first, and don't fit well in the coupler, so often I can just change the plug and all is well.

I find it better to use S.S.Q.Connects and bass plugs or even better bass Q. connects and S.S. plugs. Also what makes them hard to get apart is dimples on the plug made by the elittle bity balls.

O you want haveta worry about keeping your cost down if your brothers lose their jobs and cann't afford to have their house washed. If you cann't soak up the extra fuel cost your already to cheap lol....................................

so does stainless steel really have an advantage over brass? i know its heavier and harder but it it really that much more resistant to corrosive chemicals like bleach? also, ive noticed that fittings i buy from different places sometimes dont fit with others of the same size. this has happened to me twice now in the last two weeks. a 3/8 brass plug didnt fit my 3/8 SS Q.C. is this common?

Quality VS Quanity

if its just you and a helper or 2 go with quality but when you have multiple crews who NEVER take care of equipment then go with Quanity, Lube with a silicon spray not WD40 it will last alittle longer and dont leave Quick connects connected all the the time they will lock up
