I just wanted to announce an exciting new feature that is being added to the next version of our ServiceCEO application.

Real Time Web Access For Your Customers!!

The first release includes the ability for your customers, via your website, to be able to get and change vital information from their accounts.

The first release of real time web access feature includes:

The abilty for customers to change their basic contact information, such as contact phone numbers and email address.

The ability to view all future jobs scheduled by your company, as well as add special instructions for you. If you allow them to they can also cancel individual jobs as well.

The ability to see all past job history as well as send you feedback on the job.

They can access their account financials, see what there current balance is as well as print out their own billing statements.

There will be much, much more functionality that will be added into the web access of our program in the future, including employee access to the vital information they need.

Please feel free to see a live demonstration of this new tool by visiting the following link

http://65.84.94.240:5000/ID/login.asp

there you will be asked for an email address (this is how your customers will get into their accounts) as well as a password, use the following information.

Email: webaccess@insightdirect.com
Password: 1234

The beauty of this feature is that it is always available and open for business 24/7, so even when you are sleeping your customers have a way to get in touch with. This should also cut down on telephone time spent with customers on basic contact items as they now can do it themselves right on your website. This will also enhance your companies image with the consumers as well, with an air of professionalism and technological savvy that most of your competitors will be lacking.

We are also looking for feedback from everyone on what information they want their customers and employees to access via the web. So please feel free to post all comments, suggestions and feedback on this feature here.

Have fun playing with the demo. Contact us with any questions that you may have.

Chris, wow this is a very nice feature.i am starting to get a lot of recurring jobs which might push me to start using your software, this new customer interactive feature is definately what i have been looking for. i have been looking into setting up my site for automation where the customer can schedule there own job without me having to stop what i am doing and answer the phone all day,the question is what if the customer chooses a time that is conflicting with another job? it would be nice to have a laptop in the work vehicle to download in real time the jobs as they come in.
is this possible?

Will the program print a report of all changed information?? What if a customer changes something by mistake, or an unauthorized person changes it, or, you just want to have the old information for whatever reason..............can you see what they changed?

All information that the customer sends needs to be approved by you in order for it to overwrite their original information. There will be many reports as well as loads more functionality added into this feature in the future, this was just an initial release of web access, as I think many of our prospects and users had a hard time visualizing the capabilities our CEO program has, and were thinking that real time access was a "pie in the sky" feature that would take years to come.

Tim-
Right now a customer can not actually book a new job themselves, YET! The end all of our web access is that we want to offer exactly that, real time purchasing of services, (within your estabilished business metrics ) just like there is currently for books, games and other stocked items. As many of you know, selling services requires a multitude more options, availibility, skills, work hours, drive time...etc. Our CEO program has all that built into it, so all it takes is for us to build a limited front-end user interface for the customer.

We at Insight Direct are obviously excited about the possibilities of the future, and if anyone has questions on what will be possible with our technology, feel free to call me directly.

Chris,

Don't we have to have a server link to the web full time in order for our customers to be doing these things? The only reason I ask is that some of the members here might be thinking you can do this with a simple web site and they need to keep in mind that in order to have real time anything on the web a server needs to be there to handle the customer interaction. If your customer information that they are changing is on your computer then your computer needs to be directly linked to the internet as a server.

When we looked into setting up our own web sites and having real time forms and account information on our network server we have here in our office, it was cost prohibitive for us to even think about, something like $350 a month just to have a slower 500K full time connection for our server. Not to mention the $1,000 setup charge to link everything up. So we opted to not have our web sites on our own server versus just farming it out to a server company that specializes in managing the web sites on their full time servers. So now when somebody fills out our forms they just get back to us via e-mail now versus filling the information right in our computer system.

So how is this feature connected to our system on a real time basis if there isn't a direct connection via the server, or is that something we would need to do in order to use this feature? Our company has been interested in doing this for the past year or so, but we haven't been able to find a reasonably inexpensive way to do it.

Great questions Lance!

I am going to respond to this as best I can, as I am not a developer, nor one of our "senior techie" guys here. From the initial conversations I have had with our developers here is the basics of the realtime access.

First off there are two servers that come into play here, even though they can be one and the same (although this is the expensive scenario you mentioned) a database server and your web server. If they are one and the same they definitely would need high speed access and always be connected, but you could not then use this machine as a client running the ServiceCEO program as well.

The more likely scenario, especially for our single-site users, is that they continue using their current web server service, (or our data service providing from Insight Direct) with the only restrictions being that the service is a windows based web server and they will allow you to install ASP pages onto it. This server then connects directly into your data server in your office, with a basic dsl or cable modem, as it would not be worth it to have a telephone connection always on. So in reality you can have the real time access without having to become a web server provider.

Lance,
I also want to make clear to you that we do custom projects for individual customers all the time, adding specific functionality that is germane to you. If this is something you have been exploring for years and have not found a decent solution yet, you might want to get in touch with us and explore the possibilities of making it a reality.
