sealing open face block

I've got to bid cleaning,sealing,painting an entry wall at subdivision. block is open faced rough outside edge. I've not sealed this kind of block before how much more sealer will it take compared to regular cinder block. what sq ft price anything special I should look for in this type block when sealing. The pores on concrete block are too open to use a standard concrete sealer. You may want to consider a prime it & paint it option.
