I am in the process of constructing a upright cart shurflo system. Would like to use to use on both roofs and decks. Based on info on board, and in talking offline to a couple of folks, leaning towards a 3-3.5 gpm, 60-100 psi system for roofs.
Looks like most people use a 1-1.5 gpm, 40 - 60 psi system for decks.
Question is could I go with the 3.5 gpm design and "turn down" for use on decks by constricting flow downstream of the pump, or will I lose controllability or lessen the life of the pump? An option is to buy two pumps.
