Funny, I watched a programm on Discovery the other day about how the Great Whites came out the water like that in South Afica, but not in any other part of the world, Though I don't really believe that picture, had he grabbed the ladder I'm pretty sure the copter would have gone down, one hell of a way to go fishing though, brings a whole new meaning to the term "live bait"

That pic was on the opening page of AOL yesterday, under the heading, "Real or fake." Then it said something about some pic awards. Kinda wish i'd read the article now.

Aww, now let's analyze the picture to see if it is real or fake.
1. The picture of the helicopter and the shark are both really clear, and equally clear. Positive
2. The blade wash in the picture is readily apparent. The white water from the fishy is also readily apparent in the picture. Positive
3. If you looke under the front wheel of the chopper there is either a buoy, or a helmet bobbing in the water. Why didn't the fish go after it? Negative
4. If you look real close at the picture, you will notice that the shark is jumping on the edge of the blade wash, and that he is actually closer to the camera than the poor Schmuck on the ladder. Interesting point.
5. Sharks are not usually in the habit of leaping out of the water. Yes, I saw outlaws post, but I am going on world wide habits. Negative
6. I am pretty sure that most military operations like that are not done in obviously shark infested waters, especially great white infested waters. Negative
7. I have entirely too much time on my hands, (Not Really) negative
8. What are the chances that a photographer would be taking a picture at this precies moment in time? Negative.

Probably a very original, and cool looking fake.

Could be filming it as to its the only place in the world they leap out of the water and like most fish when leaping they aren't eating or he done spit the helmet out and going for another snack....wonder what he makes a hour teasing sharks like dat.

I read the story about that picture on AOL. The picture is a fake and they showed the two pictures before they were put together to make the above picture. Interesting to see how they can manipulate a picture like that and make it look so real. DO Newspapers do this??

In spent several week in South Africa in 1984 and I am almost certain that they do not have a bridge that looks like the Golden Gate. In fact they don't have a bridge on the coast from the Cape to Durban.
