Two weeks of toil and sweat

Oh yeah I did. I used ReadySeal Natural Cedar and Cuprinol Pastel white. Two weeks, by myself and used a variety of rollers. But this is an example of most of the decks I encounter. They are usually big jobs and I do get paid for them. But the customer gets what they pay for. Glad you like it. i needed a confidence booster :)

whats up Reedster,

Reedster, i say this in all sincerity, that is the most beautiful deck I have ever seen!! That looks absolutely incredible, I have done two-tones before, but never to that great of detail. Do you mind telling us how you did that?? What i mean is, did you tape off the spindles and stain everything first?? It seems like with a job like that you would be unable to keep from dripping. How did you go about keeping this from happening?? Keep up the good work, and again, wonderful job!!

Best Regards,

This deck was built in March. Had not been stained/sealed. Started to turn grey. i washed with Wolman's deck and fence brightner and then applied Sunbrite's Brightner and let it dry with the second brightner on it. After drying to a moisture level below 12%, I hand sanded every hand rail and deck surface board with either a belt sander and/or palmsander. Used Coarse and medium grit on the deck surface and medium and fine on the hand rails. Blew everything off everyday with a leaf blower after sanding for the day. Taped in for application of the white cuprinol pastel white. I let the white dry for a day or so and then taped off the white for the application of Readyseal Natural Cedar. Tape stuck better to the white than to the ready seal. Everything you see that is not white was taped for the white application and vice versa for the ready seal. I applied everything with either a 1 1/2" stainl brush or 1 1/2" or 5 " roller "twinkies" (thanks Jr for the suggestion). This picture was taken several days after final application. What I made on it was real good. i have some more finite pictures of a set of spindle runs but can't seem to post them through my computer. I don't have a server to send you to to see them. Will be posting a spindle run on my website. thanks for the compliment. I used tips that were gathered entirely from this board and my sealer supplier, Pierce.

Simply phenomenal!!

I did a couple of two tone decks before but nothing like that. My patience where's thin on these type of jobs and I tend to avoid them all together. I hope they paid you extremely well because you deserved it.:)
