Ups/ Fed-ex

I do mostly fleet and equipment washing as well as some oil-field work on the weekends. I'm still in school and I was looking for something to do during the evenings and the UPS trucks around here never look clean. I was wondering if anyone had any information on how to obtain a bid notice or a copy of the contract, etc. Appreciate the help.

Skip the bid notice and go talk to the manager and see why he drives dirty trucks. It would be nobody wants to wash them at what they want to pay and it could be he is looking for someone.

Most UPS sites around here are washed by their own wash guys which are brought in under their union contract. Good luck!

Not real sure about what a grading and septic tanker is, but I have done a lot of heavy equipment. For loaders we normally charge around 75-85 depending on how dirty they stay. Pretty much the same thing for a dozer. A trackhoe can run anywhere from 95-150 depending on the size. For big scrapers, at the least $150. Whatever you do, invest in a good turbo tip but be careful with it. I've told people before it all depends on how much you wanna make. I shoot for a minimum $150.00 hour. If it takes you an hour to do a piece of equipment, then you charge $150.00 and so on.

thanx for the input, as for last post I ran the words together sorry. The company does grading so they have about four pieces of grading equipment, they also have a tanker truck that cleans out septic tanks. As for the turbo tip I do have one.the rig I have comes with 3500 psi 4.2 gpm with 300 gal tank also have burner that get up to 180 degrees. Do you think I'm set up with the right equipment for the job?

It's all about how well you can do the job...the burner is a must when cleaning equipment. Go out there and learn by trying something a little different each time until you find something you like and then stick with it.
