zinc is a coating applied to steel to keep it from rusting[fence post type of thing]
stainless steel is, so called ,rust proof.
Stainless is slightly lighter. [no coating]
Stainless holds up to some chems better then the zinc.
Stainless is more brittle then the zinc.
i like the stainless.

What I do when I need a few extra feet I use a 3' extension on the end of my regular wand. I use a 3' aluminum extension. I put quick connects on it so I can just pop it on and off. The aluminum lances are chaep and bend easy but I like them because there are light. If you do it the way I do don't buy a lance with a grip on it. That just adds to much weight to it. When you use a 6' lance (2 3' lances coupled together) for awhile it gets tiring. If you haven't already put a high pressure swivel on the front of the lance( by the handle) it makes it a lot easier when you are trying to rotate the fan spray.
