What do YOU want to see in BlastMaster?

Before we all know it, spring will be here and the season will be in full swing. Right now we’re all getting ready to ramp up for the 2002 year, and are working diligently on things we want to implement before the phones get too busy. That’s exactly why I’m writing to you today, and asking you for your help.

As you know, I’m writing for BlastMaster Magazine on a regular basis. It takes time to sit down and write articles, and it takes planning too. Ideally, I would like to have articles ready to turn in from now through August. What I would really like is to know what YOU want to read about. What are some of the subjects that interest you? I would like to be able to write about what’s of interest to the readers. To do this, I need to hear from you. If you wouldn’t mind taking a moment to email me with your ideas for articles, it would be greatly appreciated. The areas I cover are general business, marketing, advertising, sales, personnel, and technology.

Additionally, if you have questions in any of these areas, send them too! One of the other things I’ll be doing is answering questions from readers in a column. I will answer everyone via email, and some will be submitted for publication.

Please folks; you know what’s going to happen to my free time and to yours. We’re all in the same boat. I need your feedback, and your questions, so that I can continue to contribute to BlastMaster Magazine, with what the readers want to see.

Everyone who submits an idea will be mentioned for his or her idea, and all letters that get published will contain your name and company name unless you specify that you wish to remain anonymous. Please include your name, company name, and the email address you want me to respond to.

I’m looking forward to hearing from you, and to giving you what you want most to read about in BlastMaster Magazine both now and in the future. Thanks in advance for emailing me!

OK gang...
I have heard from a few folks, but I still need more. I need to crank out about 5 articles, or 20 pages. This is an excellent opportunity to get your name and company name mentioned too, and you can use these magazines to demonstrate to prospective clients your level of professionalism and involvement in the industry.

Email me OR post your ideas or questions here. C'mon. don't be shy....PLEASE.....

computer artical

Hey Beth,

I view you as the person who really knows about computers - I would like to see you explore that area.

To be specific,

1) an artical about the logistics, start to finish, of entering a customer into your data base and how you maintain your data. What information you include for tracking, how you track them/ market to them, what programs you use to help in this function (I know you use Act and Quick Books - but which one do you input data to), when do customers enter your data base (upon contact, accepted bid, or sale), When do you purge your data base (after so many sales attempts, after so much time, never).
I personally am lost about most of this stuff - I still have customers I send mailers to that have have never bought from us and am not sure if they even live there any more. Also, it seems that I can not minipulate my data to market to a specific group.

2) an artical regarding web based marketing. How to set up a web page, how to maintain and change. How to know if it is working or if you should even bother.
I personally am not that strong in computer skills and don't see myself having a bunch of time to devote to this function (especially in a few months), shoud I even bother?

In addition to computers, I've noticed you have a great understanding of marketing. Maybe you could have an artical about a outline of a good marketing plan. Including, time line, budget, different media, how to use parts to support on another. Also, you may want to include what has worked for you.
Personally, I've found that yard signs, proffesionally lettered trucks, networking and direct mailers to be my most usefull tools.

Well I think I have rambled enough - good writting, Tim

Hi Beth,

I would like to see an article in the marketing arena of "Presenting your sevices and bid to the customer". I know this maybe broad in scope, but you of all people I know can do this.

Thanks,

Reed
