I apply cleaners bottom to top when house washing............but I do it any old way I please with decks..........up or down..........sideways.........doesnt seem to matter.

Sometimes when stripping, I notice streaks........but after cleaning and brightening they're gone.

Mike, after stripping do you re-clean with a wash?, or right to neutralizing?.

We go right to neutralizing.

Below is the steps we take when stripping a deck:

1) Protect flowers/shrubs and any brass kickplates, etc Don't forget to protect yourself also.

2) Spray stripper

3) Power wash at a reduced pressure, 40° tip

4) Brighten (neutralize)

5) Let it dry a day and a half to a couple of days then seal

Note: Some people rinse the brightner off after it is applied. I do not because that step is not necessary with Ready Seal.

Right on guys! Appling from the bottom up when cleaning is always a good rule of thumb.Streaking usually comes from stronger concentrations of chems. which is what happens when we allow stuff to drip down in an uneven fashion.

As long as you saturate the surface you won't come across any problems with streaking. We apply percarbs and strippers in any ol' way everyday and have never ran into a problem... if you do you probably missed that spot.

Ditto to what Greg said. If you're getting runs or streaks, you probably didn't apply enough stripper. I would rather use a little more chems to be certain of a uniform, one application stripping process, than skimp, and have to go over areas a second time. When I mix up my stripper, it costs me under $3 per gallon, so it's not a big deal to me.
