Working on a new SH solution...

I have a ton of fences coming up in the next month, and I want to use this opportunity to create a thicker hydroxide solution for wood. I've tried a few thickening agents without any decent success.

Any thoughts?

Just about everything I have tried in way of surfactants has created too much time on the tail end with rinsing. I have solved most issues by strengthening the formulas we use and downstreaming to create enough wetness behind the mix. I abandoned percarbs long ago. They stink on verticals.

We have been Behr and acrylic country for awhile as our VOC laws in the northeast changed 6 or 7 years ago. Everything we strip is acrylic.

NP-9, Ammonyx-Lo, dish liquid, and some commercially made stuff from stripper manufacturers. None really made a difference. The key to tough vertical strips is going to be in the strength of the mix. Its a tough balance as also at risk are plant life, oxidized paint and windows.

Do you downstream your chems?
