    cedar shake sealer

Does anyone have experience with cedar shake restoration? The few I have done, I used TWP products or Wolman F&P suggested by my suppliers. I have a customer that wants a color basically darker than clear but not as dark as F&P Natural, not to gold or honey?I told them I would check into it. The...

    "Stiffed" as a board

Hey Decksource, I have felt your pain many times! Most times I have trouble with payment is when I bid things a little low(trying to be nice) or to people who have tons of money and like to wait it out! I since have started to get a down payment of 30 to 50% when I come to wash the deck with...

    Sherwin Williams Cuprinol

Hey John, I am thinking of doing just the opposite of what you are planning to do! I have had some good luck with Wolmans and recently more bad luck with it. I follow Wolmans directions to the letter and only apply in the right conditions and I still find Wolmans Toners and F&P not to hold up...

    Cuprinol,is it any good?

Hello everybody! I just have a quick question. I have a customer that wants a semi-transparent deck stain that matches her house( kind of a light tan) and I have a brochure from Cuprinol that has one premixed that is close to the color she wants. Do alot of you use or have used Cuprinol...

    cwf removal

I use Wolman stripper mixed 1 to 1 if there is quite a bit of it still on there. I have only had to use it full strength a few times on some really thick stuff. I have removed it with the Wolman rejuvinater when there wasn't much left on. Otherwise the products that Jim uses is very good also...

can i dilute Wolmans stripper ??

I dilute 1 to 1 all the time. With Thompsons water seal or CWF you can remove it with the Wolman rejuvinater. I feel that full strength stripper is almost to much of a good thing if the existing sealer is in poor shape. Good luck! Have a good one! Jerry ------------------

    X-100

Hello everyone, Had a customer ask me if I had ever used X-100 from American Building Products. She had used some on her front steps and liked it. It had a nice color to it. Have any of you used it? I never had heard of the stuff before, is it any good? Thanks for your responses! ------------------

    Total time?

Hey Cliff, Average time? About 4-5 hours for a typical 12 x 12 deck or so (washed and stained), but as you stated ,there is alot of variables! Just remember, if you think that a job will go real easy, it probably won't. Don't get frustrated and schedule your jobs with enough time in between so...

Nobody wants to talk about Wood??

Hey guys! It's great to see some faces to those names! Talking about yellow page ads, I had one but the cost was very expensive for the amount of calls I got from it,and I pay for it year round ,but can only use it 6 months out of the year. So I flood the local papers and shoppers with decent...

    CWF & Flood..Pros and cons

Myself, I would stay far away from CWF and Flood, I have stripped more CWF off of decks than any other stain, a person is lucky if it lasts a year! If Ready Seal is not shipable to Canada, the I would find something available at a good paint supplier to provide you with a product that will last...
