Who has been confronted by an angry p/w contractor while on the job and how did you handle it ?

Some individuals make it hard to be civil with. I have yet to personally encounter an angry contractor on one of my projects. I have had a few phone calls and emails. One guy even threatened me. I don't take kindly to threats, so I told him I'd meet him at a certain place at a certain time. He was a no show.
Chances are you will never encounter this guy again Tony. If you do, or if he threatens you, either verbally or written, you have legal options available to you.
When you get a chance Tony, you might want to improve your signature line. One of these days one of us will create a sticky thread on how to create a productive signature line. At a minimum, your signature line should include your business name, business phone number, and a click-able link to your companies website. This is all beneficial to your business and your websites SEO and viability.

Search for a FaceBook button picture you like. Save it to your pictures. In your signature control panel, in your signature line, add the FaceBook button image. Then highlight the image link, and the URL to your FaceBook page.

I would suggest you first list your companies website (make that also a click-able link).

We have several members who are a wealth of knowledge regarding marketing and search engine optimization (SEO). There are plenty of previous posts related to the topics, and by doing a seach you should find a lot of vauluable information.

Done properly, all of these signature line adjustments will improve your SEO and visibility on search engines.

how do you add the facebook link ?

Why did you have a guy confront you?? Just tell the guy you beat him out on sales, you sold yourself and your product better than he did. Everthing is not based on price, it may have been the way he talked to the customer that lost him the sell. Take it all in stride and move on to the next one.

Any "contractor" lurking around at nighttime confronting a working man, really isn't spending his/her time wisely.

I can't account for all the work I have lost, to either lowballers or to my respectable competitors. I would never consider wasting my time or making a fool of myself over a contract I did not win.

To date I have never lost a customer. Our quality standards are to credit. If I was to lose a customer, I would definitely invest the time, money and energy to learn why, and how to prevent losing another customer again.

Missed this thread somehow.....

Never had a contractor actually stop but did have one in West Sacramento drive by a few times on one of my accounts.

Had a washer down in Bakersfield honk the horn at me one time and threw up a peace sign.

In L.A....I am usually hooking up Jim from Under Pressure...

Here is a question that is related to this thread....do you all carry a gun for protection???

I've always carried, 24/7. PW or not. Simply because, as life has it, the one time I forget to carry one of my weapons of choice, will surely be the time I am encountered by some lunatic, of faced with a situation where I might be able to save an innocent victims life.

California is way too liberal for my likings. The libs want to take the weapons away from all the law abiding people, I assume because they think the criminals will also give up their guns. Somebody in California has been smoking to much of the wacky weed.

Guns cause crime, like fly's cause garbage. Un unarmed citizen is a victim in waiting. For those without military combat training or experience, there is a great company here in Arizona named Gunsight Academy; http://www.gunsite.com/main/ The costs are reasonable and you will walk away with all the offensive, defensive and tactical experience and training you'll need.

Also have concealed weapon permit in NY and a non resident CW permit for Florida. I worry about the one who shows up in public (ie Arizona shooting of weeks past) and decides to use bystanders and kids for target practice. WT.....
