Asking for trouble

This guy is washing out a dumpster area without reclaiming... With the City's Public Works Director lives about three doors away.

The Public Works Director also shops here as well... Not a good thing...

If that is one of your competetors than you have very little to worry about.

The thing that makes me worry is "WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU TAKING THAT PICTURE FROM".....Are you up a tree?? On top of a building? In the news chopper? Are you working with the "Spy Kids" ?

I have had many occasions where people photograph my operation. Why don't you just approach and say something ??? Are you going to run those photos down to the PWD's house ? Are you mad because that is not your rig doing the work ? I do not understand your point ? Do you want people taking pics of your game ??

The picture thing upsets me very much.... I have had it happen to me on more than one occasion. Usually another mobile washer whose toes I stepped on when I got the job. What are you trying to accomplish ? I do things right..... Do you ????

I agree with Mike

you know something >>this guy maybe trying real hard to make a buck maybe trying to send his kid thru the first year of college.
you know nothing about him .at least he is working and not on walfare...

and we wonder why there are wars and such .........there is always somebody who thinks that they are better and dont care who they bring down. Frankly im sick of it.

If your doing nothing wrong I see nothing wrong in getting your picture taken,it shouldn't upset ya unless your hair is messed up

at least he is working and not on walfare...

You never know,he could be on government support and making extra for beer money

Frankly im sick of it.

Is Frankly the guy you got your new pills from, try friendly's pills they want make ya sick ;).

You would be doing the manager a favor by showing that picture to him,he may not like paying a big fine.He may haveta take his kids out of college to pay the fine and he too could get sick from taking frankly pills

I doesn't matter to me... I took this picture for conversation and possibly to use as a sales gimmick.

Look at the second picture with the water working its way to the storm drain 20' from there... The question is: Code Enforcement is still out and about and it is nice and bright outside, isn't this like saying to them, "in your face Code Enforcement!"

I took the picture from my back yard right out in the open...

Also, this is the forth P/W to work in this one little spot. What would that mean to you?

To me it means that they are causing the "market" to be to flooded with lowballers for us because they aren't paying full price, they just accept the person that comes in and will do a dumpster pad for $25.

Why not bust the manager for allowing this to happen? They are the ones responsible to pay a fine as well for alowing this to happen. Maybe after a few thousand dollar fines and the other business owners hearing about it, a ledgit company can come through and charge what the job is really worth.

As for taking pictures, anyone can take pictures of the work I do, it would be a badge of honor, because I know I do it right.

I know the fire dept around here goes around and takes pictures of P/Ws while they work; it is usally what they do before they nail you with a ticket.

If I can take this pic from my backyard, why wouldn't the Public Works Director be able to do the same? Beware of your surroundings...

By the way, the reason I know that the Public Works Director lives just up from me, is because I washed down his garage and flat work for him  :p

"...Storm water requirements have been in place for a long time. Developers like Wal-Mart must share responsibility with their construction contractors to ensure compliance..." (Same applies to this situation)

Larry,'
Just joking as that is not my sub. If it was, then I would know that something was in place. Anyway, their are some companies around here that have the rig on the truck and the recovery on a small trailer.
They drop the trialer near the drain and leave a worker to use a wand like above to get the water as it comes in.

Now Robert may be able to see the drain and know that nothing was being done, however since the water is going so far, he could be using evaporation and a few water booms and then suck it up later. Not the greatest as it will create a pool of nasty, but it does work.

Robert,
Could you see the actual drain? Is it possible that he was doing what I described above?

Yeah... He was using evaporation all right, LOL!!

If you look at his equipment, that is it... Nothing anywhere to even slow the water down... Common place here.

I wouldn't even start doing dumpster pads until I got my reclaim setup... That's how I got the job doing the pad I did... Reclaim...

I guess I should have taken a pic of that, a little more shocking, huh?

Since the drain is not in the picture, I would have no idea if he had anything in place, except that you told us.
Like I said, some companies drop a trailer off and do the reclaim that way.

Ahhh... Wasn't that interested in following it all the way down to the main street where the storm drain is at... Believe me... He wouldn't be reclaiming at the bus stop, LOL

It's obvious he had no plans on reclaiming it... It wouldn't bother me if he were washing down the sidewalks, but the dumpster pad? Some really nasty things and smell originate from there...

Now your on to something. He was washing the dumpster pad while his buddy was washing the bus stop, and recovering for the both of them. damn why didn't I think of that?

Do I see jealousness here Robert? like you're probably upset that you don't have the accounts?

You made some remark awhile ago about Albertson's and Good Year Tire Store if I remember right.

If I were you I would stop watching others and taking their pictures and go spend some money and buy a real reclaim system then go after those accounts.

You know what it is like to follow others around taking pictures, sure it is a free world but I can think of more important things for you to be doing then that even if you were in your back yard.

Sorry I had to come back for this but it is just to much seeing guys with nothing better to do then taking pictures of competitors then saying I will turn it in to my neighbor who is a big wig and then get the store in trouble.

Here is what your going to do, you turn in Albertson's and they get a big fine.

Then they say NO MORE PRESSURE WASHERS as it cost to much money to pay fines etc. Even if you present yourself or another pressure washer goes in there and shows them they are legal, the fine did it.

And heaven forbid they find out it was you who turned them in, do you really think they would hire you?

Open your eyes and mind, not just your eyes and put the camera away.

Code enforcement here basically won't do anything unless they are present during the violation.

I did a pad a week ago; no water left the area, worked out very very well. I was impressed.

It was Panda Express that was having it done, not Albertsons.

I could easily seek this, and chances are take it.

As I wrote before, a guy similar to this guy charged my wife's boss $300 to run smelly oily water across the plaza's parking lot, using a cold water washer. Charged $150/hr and took two hours.

He hired me and it cost him half that, in half the time, the water was reclaimed and washed correctly. (I guess if I used a cold water washer to wash down grease it would have taken me that long or longer)

I didn't feel it was worth that, but he was ecstatic when he checked it out and saw the job I did and blown away when he saw the bill (I originally told him it would cost $270, going by the first guys rate).

Sometimes it is a good thing to follow up someone that is incompetent, makes you look like a God...

I don't know what you guys charge for D. Pads, but if this is the going rate, I am impressed...

Bully:

If I were YOU I'd stop looking for sh*t to stir up and start being a productive member of this board, rather than an instigator. Grow up!
