I'm just trying to save some of you guys all the pain and money that I spend listening to advertising advice from people that have/had no idea what they were talking about. When my ads didn't produce results I would get pissed and then those "experts" would chalk it up to "branding" my company.

I like results from ads, not some mystical, non paying cop-out called branding. Branding comes from doing a good job or having a good product and word spreading because of it. I NEVER spend money branding my company!!! Ever!!! Once I realized that these so called experts were full of crap I started doing my own research from people who made a lot of money from their ads, not from other people in their field, it changed EVERYTHING.

I spent a lot of money and even more time testing and testing and retesting everything I put out. Not everything I do works, but that is what testing is all about. Find out what works, then run it into the ground until it doesn't work anymore.

People think I'm a jerk (like on another forum that I won't mention) because I show them what SUCKS about their websites and ads. I'm not trying to be a jerk, just the oposite actually, I'm trying to help. If you click on your website and the entire first page is all about you, your website sucks, period!

Here is the analytics of one of my sites for this past week:

Notice the average time on this site.. 4 minutes!!! It use to be about :30 seconds until I started controlling the flow of the traffic. Instead of just having a normal layed out page with About us, Contact us, blah blah pages that they could just flip through how they wanted, I made this particular site like a presentation that lasts about 2 mins, 30 secs.. then from there they can decide where to go next. This site makes me money.

This is the kind of stuff that I try to help you guys with. Not that I'm the best at it or anything, but I can help a little. I learned a lot from people like Kenner, Michael K then other big dawgs in the marketing industry.

If there is anything you guys want to see more of, let me know and I'll share what I can.

Antman, The funnest part of business these days is building my web site. Especially since I listened to some one and used hostgator. You should have sent me through one of your sites though. I read all I can that you and others write about site work. Just wanted to say thanks.

EDIT So yea, that's why I am a stalker. gotta go where the goings good.

Would you be interested in writing something for our new online magazine, Pressure Cleaning Contractor? We launch 1/1/11. To get it in that issue, I'd need it pretty quick (around the 10th) but if that's not doable, we can aim for issue #2. Let me know if you're interested. Thanks for the tips!
