Mel,
That works out at roughly $1.37 a square foot( if my calculator and my brain are working right!), did you just work out the price by the horizontal square footage or did you figure the benchs railings ext as well, also did you have to strip aswell. The only reason I ask is cause I'm still trying to figure a price for decks as on these boards you hear everything from a $1 upto $2.50 a square foot.

OUTLAW,

YOUR RIGHT THAT ABOUT $1.37 PER SQ FT. I FIGERED HORIZONTAL, AND I DID STRIP IT , BUT DID NOT USE CHEMICALS.

USED HOT WATER ONLY ,WONT TELL YOU THE PSI USED, YOULL THINK I WAS CRAZY ( OKAY A LITTLE, WILL JUST DEPEND ON WHAT DAY IT IS) LOL .............

I HAD SOME BRIGHTNER LEFT OVER FROM A WOODEN TRAILER I DID 8 MOS AGE , IT TOOK 3 HRS WITH 2 HOT WATER WASHER
TO STIPE AND BRIGHTEN, WENT OVER IT ABOUT 5 OR 6 TIMES.

ALL METERALS LESS THEN $200, PLUS LABOR $100 SO THAT LEAVES $875.

I HAVE A $800 PAINT SPRAYER I WILL SPRAY THE OIL BASE WOOD FINISH ON WITH

SO FOR 8 OR 9 HRS OF WORK I THANK THAT $1.37 IS GOOD!
BUT NEXT TIME IT WILL BE AT LEASE $1.65

IF YOU USE READY SEAL YOU WILL HAVE TO CHARGE $2.50 OR MORE.;)

Mel, looks good. I don't understand your comment about using Ready Seal - why should it cost so much more. I bid a 2-deck job today that was a little larger, and ended up in the $1.50 range, using RS. Did I make a mistake?

Mel, Readyseal have a warehouse in Lewisville, you probably have a better idea of where that is than me( somewhere between Waco and FW I think), if you go to their website you can get free samples and find out where the closest supplier to you is, for me it wasnt good news, South east Houston, about a 120-150 mile round trip, these days, you have to pay me to to drive into Houston!

I actually stripped a deck with just Hot Water also. About a Month ago I was going to mix some HD 80 Stripper to Strip this grey Deck.

I thought at this moment to try Hot Water set at about 190 degrees and the stain came right off. I couldn't believe it. When I was finished Powerwashing there was not a drop of stain left on this deck.

The wood looked Beautiful as if the deck was just built. I wish I took a digital picture of it.

Sometimes Hot water alone works wonders. Of course other times You must use a stripper/brightner.
